The Buyer for Core position is for you, if you would enjoy:

• Working with the SVP of Merchandising and VP of Specialty to curate a strong portfolio of brands and concepts for inclusion in airport stores as standalone or store-in-store applications.
• Being based out of our East Rutherford, New Jersey office, with a hybrid work-model

Key Accountabilities - your team is counting on you as a Buyer for Core to:

• Identify gaps in current portfolio and outline potential Brands or Licensed concepts to fill gaps, expand portfolio across categories and elevate retail offer for Hudson.
• Identify Market Trends and attend market to identify new opportunities with potential exclusivity to Hudson in Airports.
• Build relationships with Brands, Brand Licensees and Specialty retail (Inc. Regional).
• Negotiate terms for Hudson including Margins, freight, returns, swap-out and seasonal promotions including Associate incentives etc.
• Work to develop Regional specialty and assortment options.
• Develop Calendar with each Brand or Vendor to ensure fresh assortments seasonally.
• Schedule line reviews at least quarterly and include VP and SVP.
• Activate Brands and Vendors on Vendor Portal, monitor process and issue purchase orders.
• Send purchase orders to all locations with tracking information, timing and direction.
• Work with Brand to develop Training and tools for Stores to elevate awareness and sales.
• Work with Brands and Brand Licensees to create visual and graphic standards and share with Stores. Work with all parties to ensure seamless and consistent execution in Stores.
• Create Seasonal Promotions to drive incremental Sales
• Work with VP, SVP and Business Development on assortments and Brands for new RFP’s.
• Work with Operations to develop relationships and increase market performance.
• Work with Planners on monthly analysis. Provide summaries to SVP.

Buyer for Core Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years retail experience including Buying and Specialty Brands oversight
• Organizational Skills
• Strong Communication Skills (including with international partners)
• Attention to detail
• Consistent follow through with Vendors, Brands and Stores
• Systems capability
• Collaboration skills
• Analytical skills
• Ability to work independently as well as a part of a Team
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to adjust to business dynamics
