Hudson Group is currently seeking a Coordinator, Corporate Communications to help guide the over-arching brand alignment across all external channels, building Hudson Group’s brand identity as the largest travel retailer in the U.S.

We’re looking for an experienced external communications liaison who is collaborative, curious and unafraid of entering unfamiliar territory, working in partnership with various teams. This is a key departmental position, and will build Hudson Group’s brand identity as the largest travel retailer in the U.S.

The Public Relations Relations & Corporate Communications Coordinator for Hudson Group is a key departmental position for a specialist with 2-3 years of public relations and corporate communications experience. The appropriate candidate will need to possess a clear understanding of consumer and trade media with a scope encompassing airport/trade, travel/tourism, business, books, cause/community, and lifestyle media in markets across the U.S.

A successful candidate will possess media-relations experience and will support the function by developing media materials, reports and recaps, pitching/responding to media inquiries, and providing on and off site support for events such as conferences, trade shows, and community efforts. This person will be energetic, highly motivated, conscientious and detail-oriented – a creative self-starter who takes initiative in executing big ideas, solving problems and keeping an eye out for innovative ways to better the PR process through industry insights and trends.

The Coordinator will directly report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Supporting day-to-day PR tasks in tandem with VP of Corporate Communications, which includes
    • Media: driving execution of PR strategy to key media in all Hudson markets, with emphasis on travel industry press; and drafting written communications, including key messages/talking points, press releases, media advisories, Q&As, statements, mail drops, captions, calendar listings, correspondence and content for social media and company websites
    • Consumer: Facilitation of all marketing promotional programs and special events. Continually looks for methods to make marketing programs guest friendly and convenient.
  • Monitor media mentions daily for the company & owning press clips process for the NA market, utilizing Meltwater database and other tools. Create recap & analysis reports for accurate measurement of results for each corporate initiative or discipline
  • Management of PR images and collateral to share with media and recap store events.
  • Facilitate requests and communication with airport partners, internal teams, non-profits liaisons, and stores as needed to ensure projects are effectively executed.
  • Assist in the execution of national and regional Cause Marketing campaigns and events as directed at both the regional and national levels.
  • Administration and liaising with internal teams (working on cross-functional projects, processing invoices, on-boarding new vendors, etc.).

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS in communications-related field, with 2-3 years of experience in public relations, media relations, communications or related area
  • Proven history of success in working with/pitching reporters; contacts at consumer and trade publications, newspapers, television and online outlets a plus
  • Retail experience a  plus

Reasoning Ability:

  •  Innovative, creative thinker, proactive personality

Other Skills:

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment; meeting deadlines is a must
  • Ability to manage day-to-day PR tasks with limited supervision
